Exclusive: 2021 AFCON U-20 Best Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad Earns Late Black Stars Call up

C. K. Akonnor has handed Black Satellites goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad his maiden invitation to the senior national team, Black Stars for the AFCON qualifiers against South Africa.

The high-flying goalkeeper who was named as the best goalkeeper in the just ended U-20 AFCON tournament hosted by Mauritania has been included in Akonnor’s squad who are preparing for South Africa.

Danlad,18, who produced flamboyant performance to guide Ghana to win its 4th AFCON U-20 has been nothing short of the best. He saved two penalties against Cameroon for Ghana to progress to the finals during the penalty shootouts.

The Kotoko goalkeeper kept six games for Ghana and conceded three goals.

He joins his teammate Razak Abalora, Medeama SC first choicest goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi as well as Joseph Addo of Aduana Stars.

The prodigy young goalkeeper has now been invited to all the four male national teams of Ghana.
