GSA Justifies Interview Decentralisation

The Ghana Scholarships Authority (GSA) has justified its move to decentralise the interview and assessment exercise for applicants across all 16 regions of the country.

According to the Authority, it is part of efforts to make scholarship opportunities more accessible.

The Authority says the exercise is in line with the President’s vision of resetting scholarship access in Ghana and was designed to bring the selection process closer to applicants, allowing candidates to participate in interviews within their respective regions.

In the Ashanti Region, staff of the GSA, in collaboration with relevant Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), engaged applicants in Oforikrom, Kwadaso, Afigya Kwabre North, Kumasi Metropolis, Ejisu and other districts as part of the process of assessing and identifying deserving beneficiaries.

The Authority says the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to broadening access to scholarship opportunities and making the administration of scholarships more accessible, inclusive and responsive to the needs of applicants.

Under the leadership of Director-General Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, the Ghana Scholarships Authority says it continues to strengthen its systems and partnerships to ensure that scholarship opportunities reach deserving Ghanaians across the country.
