Former President Kufuor Pays Homage to Asantehemaa

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has paid homage to the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Yaa Akyaa II.

He was accompanied by some close relatives to the Manhyia Palace on September 18, 2026, in what was his first encounter with the new Queen following her enstoolment in July 2026.

Speaking during the visit, the former President said his late visit was due to his absence from the country at the time of her enstoolment.

HE Kufuor used the occasion to extend his goodwill message to the Asantehemaa.

“I wish you, Nana, long life, good health and divine strength as you continue to offer your invaluable motherly support, wise counsel and unwavering backing to your son, the Asantehene, for the progress of Asanteman,” he said.
