CSA Raises Alarm Over Financial Fraud Targeting Elderly

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has cautioned families to help educate and protect older adults from financial fraud as part of activities marking the countdown to the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2026.

In a flyer released as part of its 11-days-to-go countdown, the Authority said older adults are frequently targeted by scammers, urging families to support them in recognising fraud attempts.

The message forms part of the CSA’s build-up to this year’s NCSAM, slated for 1st to 31st October, 2026, under the theme: “Securing Ghana’s Digital Finance Ecosystem.”

The Authority has been rolling out daily cyber safety tips ahead of the month-long observance, which seeks to promote safe online practices, particularly within the country’s financial space.

This year’s campaign with the hashtag #NCSAM2026 is expected to focus on strengthening resilience against cyber fraud, phishing, and other threats to Ghana’s digital financial ecosystem.
