O/R: Police Intercept Articulator Truck With 5,164 Suspected Narcotic Parcels, Arrest 3
The Oti Regional Police Command has intercepted a DAF articulator truck conveying 5,164 compressed parcels suspected to be narcotic substances.
The truck, with registration number GE 3906-15, was intercepted on September 14, 2026, following intelligence that it was conveying narcotics concealed in secret compartments.
According to a news release dated September 18, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Oti Region, Deputy Superintendent of Police John Nchor, a search of the concealed compartments led to the discovery of 5,164 compressed round parcels suspected to contain narcotic substances.
Three suspects were arrested in connection with the consignment and were identified as Abdul Razak Adamu, 35, driver; Jubril Amidu, 33, mechanic; and Aliu Adamu, 33, driver.
A fourth occupant of the truck, identified as Adamu Iddi, however, managed to escape.
On September 17, 2026, the three arrested persons were arraigned before the Dambai Circuit Court, presided over by His Lordship Justice Dr. Moses Bedima Duut, and were remanded into police custody to reappear on October 15, 2026.
The police said the truck has been impounded, while the exhibits have been secured to assist investigations.
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the escaped suspect and identify other persons connected to the consignment,” the statement said.
The Oti Regional Police Command assured the public of its continued commitment to combating narcotics trafficking and organised crime and urged the public to provide credible information to assist the police.
