Coach Bashiru Leads Hearts To 1st Away Victory

Caretaker head coach, Abdul Bashiru, made a good note on his first assignment with the Hearts of Oak on Tuesday away from home.

The win against Accra Lions preserved the unbeaten record for the Phobians since the former’s promotion to Premier League.

He took over as the interim head coach on November 14 after the club sacked Martinus Koopman as part of efforts to restructure their technical team.

The Phobians in their game against Accra Lions took the lead in the sixth minute, courtesy of Hamza Issa who whipped in a cross from Salifu Ibrahim but the scoreline was levelled in the 26th minute by Abass Samari Salifu.

The visitors retook the lead after recess through Raphael Amponsah.

The win is Hearts of Oak’s third this season and has pushed them up on the league table to 9th with 15 points.
