Playing Against Kotoko Is Cheap- BYFA Coach

Bekwai Youth Football Academy coach, Abdul Rahman Yakubu, says playing against Kotoko is not anything extraordinary.

The two Ashanti teams will come face-to-face to lock horns today at the Nana Gyamfi Park in Bekwai to see which team will secure qualification from the round of 64.

The gaffer for BYFA believes that the FA Cup competition has its own language different from other competitions, and they will chance on it to axe the Ghanaian giants from the competition.

FA Cup competition always comes with a lot of surprises. It is a competition that always pave way for unknown teams or minnows in football world to shock the world with astonishing results.

Commenting on the game today on ‘Pramaso’, Opemsuo 104.7fm evening sports show, the coach insisted that the game is a normal for him and his lads.

“Playing against Kotoko is a normal game that does not call for any special preparations. The FA Cup competition always come with a lot of shocking results and that is what we are aiming at against Kotoko.”

When quizzed if he has a special motivation for the players, the coach reckoned that the game itself is a motivation to the players.

“The game itself is a motivation for the players and I don’t have to stress myself to talk to them about what they ought to do. This makes such games cheap.”

The Porcupines were axed from the competition last season by Kumasi based Asokwa Deportivo, a Division one side, and Bekwai Youth Football Academy is also aiming to emulate that.
