KMA Vacant Position: I am Competent To Man The Position-Sam Pyne

The Ashanti Regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Pyne, has revealed that he is competent to become the Mayor of Kumasi.

The top position is being eyed by four people, which has made the race a blistering one. And it has become difficult for the political connoisseurs to predict who will win.

Nonetheless, the chief scribe for NPP in the Ashanti region believes that he is competent for the position following his vast knowledge in the region, particularly Kumasi.

Speaking on ‘Nkwantannanso’ morning show, the educationist told George Opoku Mensah (Agudey) that, I am more than capable to steer the affairs of the Assembly following my many years of service in the region, particularly Kumasi.”

He continued, “The party and people of Kumasi need someone who has the wherewithal to take Kumasi to the next. Hon. Osei Asibey has done his bit, and we need someone different this time.”

He concluded that his competence cannot be underestimated because he was a teacher.

“It will be laughable if my profession as a teacher will be used as a propaganda too because the teacher taught all those people you see in the environment. And apart from that, I have work at different positions at the assembly level, so I am competent enough if given the nod.”

So far, four people have sailed through the vetting for the position of KMA Chief Executive. The candidates include the incumbent mayor, Hon. Osei Asibey Antwi, Director of Urban roads, Ing. Nana Atta Poku Agyemang, Samuel Pyne, Ashanti regional Secretary of NPP, Kennedy Kankam former Nhyeaso MP, Randy Collins Owusu Amankwa, former MP Manhyia North, Kwabena Mensah.
