Sam George Claims EC Has Lost Electoral Roll Data

Legislator Sam George has alleged that the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has lost some sets of data on the electoral list.

According to him, that accounts for EC’s “insistence on the compilation of a new Voter’s register under the guise of validation”.

Sam George who is the Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram constituency noted his source of this information is a “credible” one.

“Credible information available to me indicates that the @ECGhanaOfficial has ‘lost’ datasets from the electoral roll hence their insistence on the compilation of a new Voter’s register under the guise of validation”, he tweeted.

The lawmaker furthered that the EC owes Ghanaians “TRUTH!”.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has laid before Parliament a new Constitutional Instrument (C.I.) on voter registration geared toward making the Ghana Card the sole identification document for the continuous registration processes.

This means that, if approved by parliament, the Ghana Card will be the sole form of identification for eligible voters who want to get onto the electoral roll.
