Radio Station Announces Alleged Abduction of Host in Juaso

Drive-time host of a radio station based in Juaso, Richard Nana Basoah, popularly known as “Papa Rich,” has been allegedly abducted by unknown men at the station’s premises in Juaso on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

A press release issued by his employer, said the incident occurred at about 6:20 p.m. shortly after he had concluded his evening programme.

According to the statement, two black Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles arrived at the station, and Mr Basoah was approached by a group of unidentified men.

Eyewitness accounts, which have not been independently verified, claim the men, who were reportedly armed, said they were taking Mr Basoah to “National” to answer questions concerning statements he had allegedly published.

Mr Basoah also serves as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Officer for the Asante Akim South Constituency.

As of the time of the release on August 5, 2026, no official statement had been issued by the relevant security agencies regarding the incident, Mr Basoah’s whereabouts, or the identity of the individuals involved, it said.
