Police Foil Bullion Van Attack

The Ghana Police Service says the police have crippled a robbery attempt at a bullion van in Accra.

According to a Facebook post from the police, it happened in an industrial area in the country’s capital.

“Police foil attempted bullion van robbery at Industrial Area, Accra”, a police report said.

Meanwhile, suspects are being pursued by the Anti-Robbery teams according to the post.

It furthered that “any relevant information relating to the incident should be channeled through our Police Emergency numbers 18555 or 191. Further details will be communicated by Accra Regional Police Command in due course.”

Months ago, the country recorded a series of robbery attacks on bullion vans which led to the death of one police officer, Constable Emmanuel Osei, in one of the instances where he was shot to death at Jamestown in Accra in July 2021.
