Zimbabwe Defence College Delegation Visits to Study Ghana’s Security Architecture
A 22-member delegation from the Zimbabwe Defence Force Joint Command and Staff College Course 39 has paid a study visit to the Ministry of Defence as part of efforts to deepen understanding of Ghana’s security, socio-economic and cultural environment.
The delegation, led by the Commandant of the College, Brigadier General Christopher Sibanda, said the visit formed part of the College’s academic programme to expose participants to Ghana’s security environment, development agenda and cultural dynamics.
The Principal General Staff Officer of the Ministry, Brigadier General Ben Gah, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Deputy Minister. He described Ghana as a friendly nation and encouraged the visitors to explore and learn from its people and culture.
As part of the engagement, the Director Navy Liaison, Captain (GN) De-Graft Okyere-Manu, delivered a presentation on the role of the Ministry of Defence in promoting socio-economic development through national security.
He outlined key pillars including internal security operations, infrastructure development, disaster management, environmental and natural resource protection, peace support operations and economic diplomacy, human capital development and youth employment, as well as border and maritime security.
The session ended with an interactive question-and-answer segment where the delegation sought further clarifications on Ghana’s defence and security policies.
