Ex-CDS General Thomas Oppong-Peprah Is Not Under Probe – GAF
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed reports alleging that former Chief of the Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, is under investigation.
In a press release dated August 21, 2026, and signed by the Acting Director General of Public Relations, Captain (Ghana Navy) Veronica Adzo Arhin, the Armed Forces described the report as malicious, false and groundless.
“The attention of the Ghana Armed Forces has been drawn to a malicious news item alleging that General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, former Chief of the Defence Staff and the current Deputy High Commissioner to Canada, is under probe by the Ghana Armed Forces for various infractions,” the statement said.
“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to state emphatically that the story is false and groundless. No such investigation is being undertaken,” it added.
The GAF urged the public to ignore the report and cease the spread of such misinformation.
General Oppong-Peprah served as Chief of the Defence Staff before his current diplomatic posting as Ghana’s Deputy High Commissioner to Canada.
