Gov’t Grants Adamus Resources 12-Month Reprieve To Turn Mine Around

Government has granted Adamus Resources Limited a reprieve, directing the company, together with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Minerals Commission, to present a twelve-month road map for turning the mine around.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Presidency Communications on Friday, August 21, 2026, and signed by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP.

According to the statement, the road map will include a six-member management team formed between Adamus and Government to supervise the turnaround of the mine.

The membership of the committee will include three members from the Adamus side and three members from the Government side.

The agreement followed a meeting at the Presidency aimed at resolving the dispute between the two parties to salvage what is one of a few operating indigenous large-scale mines.

The road map will also include a plan for settling liabilities by Adamus to the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Minerals Income Investment Fund, financial institutions and suppliers.

It will further include exploring means to inject fresh capital by inviting additional partners to take up equity in the mining operation.

The two sides are expected to present the road map to the Presidency in two weeks.
