Otumfuo Departs For USA
The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has left Ghana for the United States for the Millennium Excellence Week America 2026.
His Majesty departed on Sunday, August 23, 2026, and seen off by some traditional authorities nd government officials.
The week-long celebration, being organized by the Millennium Excellence Foundation, is themed around culture, leadership, business and heritage.
According to the program of activities, the celebration will begin on Monday, August 24 with the MEA Otumfuo Golf Invitational at 1700 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA.
On Tuesday, August 25, Otumfuo will deliver a Royal Guest Lecture at the Cramton Auditorium, 2400 6th St NW, Washington, DC.
The program continues from Thursday to Friday, August 27-28, with the Africa Business Investment Summit at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland.
On Saturday, August 29, the flagship Millennium Excellence Awards will be held at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC.
The week will be climaxed on Sunday, August 30, with the celebration of the Akwasidae Kesie Festival at Bowie State University, Bowie, Maryland.
