Cocoa Marketing Company Launches 24-Hour Operations To Support Gov’t Flagship Programme

The Cocoa Marketing Company Limited (CMC), a subsidiary of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has officially joined the league of institutions and agencies aligning their operations with the Government’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development initiative.

At a colourful launch of the programme, dubbed “Load 24, Offload 24, and Export 24,” held on August 20, 2026, the Board Chairman of COCOBOD and Special Advisor to the Vice President, Dr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, lauded the leadership and staff of CMC for their collective efforts in repositioning the company to support the initiative.

The Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development, Mr Goosie Tanoh, noted that the initiative aims to create jobs, build resilience, and connect local economies to the global community for improved cross-border trading.

The Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr Randy Abbey, outlined extensive administrative policy interventions to support CMC to operate efficiently under the 24-Hour cocoa operations initiative.

Speaking on the recently passed Ghana Cocoa Board Bill, 2026, he indicated that the bill ultimately seeks to protect cocoa farms from destruction and protect farmers’ incomes. He urged all stakeholders to embrace it.

The Managing Director of CMC, Dr Wisdom Dogbey, noted that the company’s operational restructuring is an economic strategy aimed at transitioning key areas from traditional daytime operations to continuous, round-the-clock activity, allowing Ghana to integrate seamlessly into global trade cycles.
