Paramount Asante Queens Call on Asantehemaa
Paramount Queens of the Asante Kingdom have paid a courtesy visit to the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Yaa Akyaa II.
The visit followed the formal announcement of her enstoolment by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, to the Kumasi Traditional Council on July 9, 2026.
Clad in white in reflection of their joy over Her Majesty’s enstoolment and led by Nana Agyakoma Difie II, Asante Mamponghemaa, the Amanhemaa visited the Manhyia Palace on July 10, 2026.
They extended a warm welcome to Her Majesty and paid homage.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Nana Agyakoma Difie II, Asante Mamponghemaa, said, “We came to welcome Her Majesty. When we heard, we couldn’t wait until the Asanteman Council was informed.
“We mobilised ourselves to come and represent the 72 Paramount Queens. Once Asanteman is formally informed, we will all come together.”
The delegation of about 25 queens included Nana Akyampomaa Ntansa Yiadom III, Agonahemaa; Nana Adwoa Afranewaa III, Offinsohemaa; and Nana Agyeiwaa Paamu II, Tepahemaa.
Other members of the delegation were Nana Akua Ameyawhene II, Berekumhemaa; Nana Darkowaa Ampem Kyerewaa II, Yamfohemaa; Nana Animah Antwi Konama II, Denyaasehemaa; Nana Nyarko Aboraa Sika III, Manso Nkwantahemaa; and Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II, Bechemhemaa.
They were accompanied by their subordinate queens.
