Otumfuo Steps in to Resolve Asante Mampong Mprim Land Tussle Outside Court

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has directed his Registrar to write to a Mampong court to halt ongoing land dispute arbitration involving Mprim as he intervenes to resolve it.

The area, together with Nsuase and Pampaso, which falls under the Asante Mampong Traditional Council, is currently embroiled in a land dispute.

The case was called before the Asanteman Council on July 27, 2026, during which all parties from the three towns, except Pampaso, were present.

His Majesty was informed that the representative of the absent chief refused to honour all summonses served on him to appear before the Council.

Otumfuo directed his linguist to use appropriate avenues to inform the said representative of his need to appear before the Council at its next sitting.

In addition, Otumfuo directed his Registrar to write to the Court to notify it of his attention to the case and to accordingly halt its proceedings to make way for his intervention and resolution.

“Write to the court telling it that my attention has been drawn to the case and that it is being resolved accordingly.”
