Otumfuo Refers Buoho-Ankaase Stool Dispute to Committee

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has constituted a committee to probe the bona fide owners of the Buoho-Ankaase stool.

Members of the committee include the Dompoasehene, Assinhene, and Anonomnsahene.

The committee has been charged to, within one month, investigate the line of succession to the stool.

“Find the woman for whom the stool was created,” Otumfuo directed.

The committee was constituted on July 30, 2026, after the Kuamsi Traditional Council was informed that the requisite rites had been honoured by the parties in dispute following the invocation of the Great Oath.

Background
The dispute centres on contention between the family head, Opanin Frimpong Manso, and one Abena Nimoh, who claims to be related to him.

Whereas the family head affirms that the woman is a descendant of male royals and therefore has no chance of ascending the stool, she insists otherwise.
