National Conference on Indiscipline in Schools Slated for June 29 and 30

The Ministry of Education is set to host a National Conference on Stemming the Growing Indiscipline in Schools on July 29 and 30.

It will be hosted at the Eusbett Hotel in Sunyani from 9:00 AM daily.

The 2-day conference will be held under the theme “Stemming the Growing Indiscipline in Schools in an Emerging New World.”

According to the Ministry, the conference is aimed at addressing the rising cases of indiscipline in basic and second cycle schools across the country and developing practical strategies to promote discipline, safety, and academic excellence.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale South and Minister for Education, will lead the high-level engagement.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Minister said, “Discipline is the bridge between education and meaningful societal transformation.”

Stakeholders expected at the conference include regional and district directors of education, heads of schools, teacher unions, parents’ associations, security agencies, and representatives from civil society organisations.

The Ministry noted that the forum forms part of the government’s commitment to ensuring that Ghanaian schools remain safe, orderly, and conducive for teaching and learning.
