Never Share Your MoMo PIN With Anyone- CSA Warns Ghanaians

The Cyber Security Authority [CSA] is urging the public to protect their mobile money accounts by keeping their MoMo PINs private.

It warned that fraudsters are using fake calls and messages to trick people into giving up access to their accounts.

In its latest “Cyber Habit of the Day” advisory, the Authority cautioned Ghanaians, “Never share your MoMo PIN with anyone, regardless of who they claim to be.”

According to the CSA, no legitimate financial service provider, bank, or telco agent will ever ask a customer for their MoMo PIN.

Sharing it, the Authority noted, exposes users to account takeovers, unauthorised withdrawals, and other financial fraud.

“No legitimate financial service provider will ask for your PIN,” the statement emphasised.

The CSA is also challenging the public to help spread the message by sharing the reminder with family members and friends who use Mobile Money.

The Authority said the campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to build safer online habits and reduce cybercrime cases in Ghana.
