The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation will hold the official balloting for the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge 2026 on Friday, July 24, at the National House of Chiefs Auditorium in Kumasi.

The event, scheduled for 10:00 am, marks the next stage of the competition dubbed “Road to Final” and will determine match-ups for participating Junior High Schools as the contest advances.

Now in its 2026 edition, the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge is aimed at promoting English and Twi reading among JHS students across the country.

The initiative seeks to improve literacy, build confidence in public speaking, and encourage a strong reading culture among young learners.

Organizers say the balloting will be streamed live to allow schools, parents and the general public to follow proceedings.

Viewers can tune in via Facebook Live on Opemsuo 104.7 FM and on the Foundation’s official page @OTUMFUOFDN.

The competition is being spearheaded by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation with support from the Ghana Education Service. Corporate sponsors for this year’s challenge include JP Trustees, ECOM, Kitty Properties, PWS Logistics, and Indomie Instant Noodles.

The grand finale is expected to bring together top-performing JHS students to compete for the coveted “Champion” trophy.
