Cyber Security Authority Urges Public To Verify Breaking News Before Sharing

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has urged Ghanaians to verify breaking news before sharing it on social media and other platforms.

In its latest Cyber Habit of the Day advisory, the Authority cautioned against the rapid circulation of unverified information.

The CSA warned that false information can cause panic and confusion and, in some cases, raise national security concerns.

As part of efforts to promote responsible digital behaviour, the Authority has challenged the public to check at least two credible news sources before forwarding news.

The advisory forms part of the CSA’s ongoing public education campaign to improve cyber hygiene and build resilience against misinformation and disinformation in Ghana’s digital space.
