Parliament Resumes Today

The Parliament of Ghana is scheduled to resume today following a recall by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

According to the directive, Parliament shall sit from Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12 noon, to Friday, August 28, 2026, at Parliament House in Accra.

This was contained in a letter dated Tuesday, August 12, 2026.

Bagbin said the recall was made in exercise of the power conferred on him by Order 58(4) of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.

The recall comes as Members of Parliament were on recess and are expected to return to the chamber next week for the five-day sitting.
