ECG Announces Planned Power Outages in Parts of Ashanti Region on July 21 and 22

The Electricity Company of Ghana [ECG] has announced planned maintenance works that will result in temporary power outages in parts of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
In a statement, ECG said the exercise forms part of efforts to improve service delivery and ensure a more reliable power supply for customers.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, power will be interrupted in part of Kumawu Township, Etia SHS, Abrebrakyewe, Bodomase, Kumawu, Aninangya, Wueaso, Abotanso, Agona, Etia, Oyoko, Sekyere, Dadiase and surrounding areas.
The following day, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, also from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the outage will affect Mamponteng, Dwumanafo, Aboaso, Hemang, Ankaase Hospital, Mpobi, Ejuratia, Kona, Asonomaso, part of Agona and surrounding areas.
ECG noted that the maintenance works are necessary to upgrade infrastructure and enhance the quality of electricity supply in the affected communities.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company said, and urged residents to take the necessary precautions during the period.
Customers were also advised to treat all power lines as live throughout the maintenance period.
