NACOC Partners with ZionFelix to Lead Anti-Drug Campaign for Youth

The Narcotics Control Commission [NACOC] has engaged renowned Ghanaian blogger and media personality ZionFelix to help drive a nationwide campaign promoting a drug-free lifestyle among young people.

The meeting, held at the Commission’s Headquarters in Accra, was led by the Deputy Director-General in charge of Enforcement, Control and Elimination, Lawyer Alexander Twum-Barimah. He said social media influencers and digital content creators have a vital role to play in shaping attitudes and behaviours among the youth.

Lawyer Twum-Barimah called on Zion Felix to leverage his wide reach and influence to amplify NACOC’s public education campaigns and prevention initiatives.

He stressed that collective efforts are essential to protecting young people from the dangers of substance abuse and to promoting healthy, responsible lifestyles.

“Prevention remains one of the most effective tools in addressing drug abuse,” he noted. He encouraged stronger partnerships with media personalities who can communicate positive messages in ways that resonate with young audiences.

Zion Felix welcomed the initiative and expressed his readiness to support the Commission’s mission.

He said he will use his platforms to educate the public, especially the youth, on the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of making informed, healthy choices.

Also present at the meeting were the Acting Director of Drug Demand Reduction, PNCO Ernestina Adjei; the Director of Intelligence, Felix Agariga; and the Head of the Public Affairs Department.

The collaboration forms part of NACOC’s broader strategy to intensify drug demand reduction efforts by working with trusted voices in entertainment and digital media to reach young Ghanaians.
