l’m Not in Competition With Any Artiste – Black Kat

Ghanaian international hip-hop/highlife artiste, Black Kat GH, has emphasized that he is not competing with any other artiste. He believes he has something unique to offer the world.

For him, while he appreciates the recognition, awards have never been his primary goal.

“So me I am not in any competition and I am not looking for any competition in UK. I just know i have got something different  I need to share with the world. Awards have never been my target but I still appreciate that they acknowledge and recognise that I work hard and the song was nice,” he said in an interview on Opemsuo Radio’s Kumasefie with Mr Black on October 14.

Black Kat was honoured with the UK-based Highlife Song of the Year, 2023 award at the Taabea Ghana Music Awards, UK (GMAUK).

He further revealed that his dream has always been to perform before an audience from a different culture, hoping to share his ‘energy’ and culture and that is the reason he moved abroad.

He stated, “I had a dream, and every dream has a location. One of my dreams was to play a song for people who aren’t my people, to see if they would feel the same energy and culture that I’m talking about. I wanted to see if they’d feel it as my own people do.”

Black Kat GH recently released a song titled ‘Yenim Ko’, available on all streaming platforms.
