GSFP Rolls Out Nationwide Nutrition Training For Caterers To Improve Pupil Meals

The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has commenced a nationwide rollout of nutrition training for caterers and cooks serving beneficiary pupils across the country.

The training, supported by the World Bank, is aimed at equipping service providers with the requisite skills to prepare nutritious, safe and quality meals for pupils under the programme.

GSFP National Coordinator, Hajia Fati Forgor, who monitored the rollout in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, expressed satisfaction with the arrangement and the level of knowledge being acquired by the trainees.

She urged the caterers to take the training seriously and apply the skills gained to improve the quality of meals served to school children. Hajia Fati Forgor also commended them for their commitment, zeal and enthusiasm to learn new trends in standard cooking.

The National Coordinator lauded the World Bank for its support and assured that her outfit would ensure that children benefit directly from the training through improved health and nutrition.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the Ghana School Feeding Programme and enhance learning outcomes by providing pupils with healthy and well-balanced meals daily.
