Gabonese President Oligui Nguema to Visit Ghana From July 28 to 30

The President of the Gabonese Republic, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, will undertake an official visit to Ghana from July 28 to 30, 2026, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Presidency Communications on Saturday, July 25, 2026, and signed by the Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

According to the statement, President Oligui Nguema will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Government Ministers, senior government officials and members of the Gabonese business community.

The two Heads of State will hold a tête-à-tête meeting, which will be followed by official bilateral talks at the Jubilee House in Accra on July 28, 2026.

The Presidency said the visit “marks another watershed moment in the dynamic bilateral relations between Ghana and Gabon.”

During the talks, President Mahama and President Oligui Nguema will review the current state of bilateral relations and identify new areas of cooperation beyond existing partnerships.

Key areas expected to feature in the discussions include political and diplomatic consultations, trade and investment, mining, energy, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, maritime affairs, transport, tourism, education, health, defence and security cooperation, environmental protection, climate action and people-to-people exchanges.

The two leaders will also reaffirm their shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and to promoting sustainable economic development for the mutual benefit of their people.

The visit is expected to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Accra and Libreville.
