The final funeral rite of Veteran Ghanaian musician, Kwadwo Akwaboah, popularly known as Akwaboah Senior, is three months away.

It follows his one-week celebration which was held on May 30 at Trede in the Ashanti region.

In a tweet, he said the funeral will be held on September 30. The venue is yet to be disclosed.

“Daddy’s One Week..thanks to all who came. Main Funeral is on the 30th of September In Kumasi. The venue will be communicated soon. I know you will all come and support..thanks soo much,” he tweeted.

The Awerekyekyere composer died in a hospital on Tuesday, May 16 aged 60.

The highlife legend lost his sight while he was based in Holland some years ago- a situation he attributed to spiritual forces during an interview two years ago.

He, however, was confident of regaining his sight back.

He is noted for songs like “Hini Me” and “Awerekyekyere”.

He was born to Master Bob Kwabena Akwaboah who is known as one of the pioneers of highlife in Ghana.
