Kotoko Signs Philip Amoh and Shayibu Abubakari

Asante Kotoko SC has gone in for a defender and a winger ahead of the upcoming season, which will see them representing on the continental stage.

The signings of Philip Amoh and Shayibu Abubakari were confirmed on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Both players are on a three-year deal.

Amoh joins from New Edubiase and previously featured for Pacific Heroes. Across both clubs, he has made over 80 appearances in the Division One League, emerging as one of the standout performers in the competition.

The 23-year-old recorded 6 goals and 11 assists in the most recent campaign.

Abubakari joins from Karela United and previously featured for Real Tamale United and the Czech Republic club Mladá Boleslav.

“He arrives to add depth and competition on the right side of defence, pushing Lord Amoah for a place in the team while Emmanuel Kotei continues his recovery from an ACL injury,” Kotoko said in a statement.
