Archbishop of Canterbury Holds Eucharistic Service at Manhyia Palace
The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Dame Sarah Mullally, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, held a Eucharistic Service at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The service was graced by the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, some traditional leaders, her delegation as well as leaders of the Ghana Diocese.
The service featured prayers, a sermon, hymns, and Holy Communion.
Delivering the sermon, Her Grace drew her text from Ephesians 3:18-19.
Citing Lambeth Palace as an example of a symbolic and historic site, she reminded congregants that they are custodians of the treasures of heaven.
“These treasures can be discovered when we spend much time in prayer, in the Word, and in worship,” she said.
In doing this, she added, “We will know that we are deeply loved.”
Upon discovering the depth of the Father’s love, she urged confidence in witnessing about it to others.
“We must tell others about the love we have found in Christ,” she said.
She ended by earnestly praying that the congregants would be empowered, “together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”
