Agric Ministry Warns Public Over Fake “Agricultural SMEs Grant Initiative 2026” Circulating Online

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has cautioned the public against fraudulent documents circulating on social media and other online platforms claiming to offer grants under an “Agricultural SMEs Grant Initiative 2026”.

In a press release, the Ministry described the documents, titled “Agricultural SMEs Grant Initiative 2026 Application Form” and “Conditional Approval of your application for the Agricultural SMEs Grant Initiative (2026)”, as fake and intended to scam unsuspecting persons.

The Ministry stated that the circulations falsely claim MoFA is running a grant initiative and direct applicants to unofficial email addresses, websites and contacts that have no affiliation with the Ministry.

“MoFA states categorically that no such grants exist and that these circulations aim to scam the unsuspecting public,” the statement said.

The Ministry clarified that no individual, committee or organization has been authorized to receive applications, process grants, request accreditation fees or solicit personal information on its behalf through those channels.

MoFA said it is working with relevant security agencies to investigate the matter and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Members of the public have been advised not to respond to any requests linked to the purported grant programme.

The Ministry further urged the public to verify any information concerning MoFA through the Public Relations Unit or the Ministry’s official communication channels before acting.

It also expressed appreciation to the public for their cooperation in helping to prevent fraud and protect individuals from falling victim to the scam.
