Abdul Aziz Issah Joins Barcelona as Club’s Second Signing from Ghana
Barcelona, the Spanish La Liga champions for the 2025-26 season, have officially announced the signing of former Dreams FC winger Abdul Aziz Issah.
Abdul Aziz, a left-footed and versatile winger, joined Albert Sánchez’s squad at Barcelona’s reserves in the third tier on September 3, 2024, for a fee of €1 million, with the contract expected to expire after one season, on June 30, 2025.
Abdul Aziz, who scored the most goals in the 2023–24 CAF Confederation Cup, fulfilled the requirements of the contract between Barcelona and Dreams FC, which included a buyout option at the conclusion of the loan period.
Aziz, a member of the Black Satellites squad that won gold at the 13th All-African Games, played two games in the Segunda Federación – Group I for a total of 26 minutes during his time in Spain in the 2024-25 season.
During the 2025-26 season, Aziz helped Barcelona finish sixth in the Segunda Federación – Grupo III, playing 20 matches for approximately 1,065 minutes, scoring four goals and assisting once.
The contract signing ceremony, which was attended by José Ramón Alexanko, director of FC Barcelona’s Training Football, has been officially announced. FC Barcelona and Dreams FC have reached an agreement to transfer Aziz Issah for two seasons, until June 30, 2028.
Abdul Aziz Issah has been the third player from Ghana to ply his trade with the Catalan club after Kevin-Prince Boateng in January 2019, but former Accra Lions left-back David Oduro signed for Barcelona B, similar to former Winger at Dreams FC.
The statement read, “Aziz Issah joins Barça Atlètic. Agreement with Dreams FC for the transfer of the Ghanaian forward, who signs until 30 June 2028. Welcome back, Aziz!”
