We Hold Otumfuo in Deep Love- Nkoranzahemaa Leads Asantehene’s Wives in Birthday Tribute
The Paramount Queen of Nkoranza, Oheneyere Yaa Sarpomaa III, has led the traditional wives of the Asantehene in a heartfelt tribute to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as he celebrates his 76th birthday on May 6, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Oheneyere said the wives of the Asantehene hold the King in deep love and respect for his unwavering leadership and the honour he consistently extends to women within Asanteman.
“On behalf of all the wives of the Asantehene, I extend our warmest birthday wishes to His Majesty on his 76th birthday,” she stated.
“We pray for his continued long life, good health, strength, and wisdom as he leads Asanteman with grace and distinction. May he continue to increase in honour, grace, and glory in the years ahead.”
The Nkoranzahemaa noted that Otumfuo’s reign has been defined by dignity, compassion, and a commitment to preserving Asante heritage while embracing progress.
She added that the Asantehene’s respect for the institution of Queenship has elevated the role of women in traditional governance and inspired admiration across the kingdom.
The tribute from the royal wives forms part of a wider outpouring of goodwill from traditional rulers across Asanteman, who have marked the occasion with prayers for the King’s health, longevity, and continued service to both Asanteman and Ghana.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool, has reigned since April 1999.
His leadership is widely recognised for advancing education, healthcare, and peacebuilding, while reinforcing the cultural identity and unity of the Asante Kingdom.
