AsanteheneAt76: Asante Ahemaa Pay Glowing Tributes to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Paramount and sub-queens across the Asante Kingdom have paid heartfelt tributes to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as he celebrates his 76th birthday today, May 6, 2026.

In a series of moving messages, the traditional rulers praised His Majesty’s transformative reign, describing him as a divine blessing to Asanteman, Ghana, and beyond.

They also offered prayers for his continued health, strength, and long life.

120 Years of Life
Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, Ejisuhemaa, expressed her deepest wish for the Asantehene to live to 120 years.

“I give thanks to God for the life of the Overlord of the Asante Kingdom, the wise and distinguished leader of our time,” she said.

“My sincere prayer is for His Majesty to be granted long life, good health, and strength, that he may attain 120 years in service to Asanteman and to Ghana.”

She added that Otumfuo’s reign has restored dignity and modernity to the chieftaincy institution while upholding the esteemed role of Queens with great reverence.

Admiration and Love
Oheneyere Yaa Sarpomaa III, Paramount Queen of Nkoranza, speaking on behalf of all the wives of the Asantehene, conveyed admiration and affection for the King.

“On behalf of all the wives of the Asantehene, I extend our warmest birthday wishes to His Majesty on his 76th birthday,” she said.

“We pray for his continued long life, good health, strength, and wisdom as he leads Asanteman with grace and distinction. May he continue to increase in honour, grace, and glory in the years ahead.”

Prosperity and Divine Guidance
The Queen of Asuboa prayed for God’s guidance and sustained prosperity for the Asantehene’s reign.

“A joyous 76th birthday to our revered Lord, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,” she stated.

“We thank God for the gift of his life and for granting him another year of service to Asanteman. May He bless him with long life, good health, and continued prosperity, and guide him in all his duties.”

Restored Honour to Chieftaincy
Nana Afrakoma Serwaa Kusi Oboadum, Queen of Asante Akyem Agogo, highlighted the Asantehene’s role in restoring prestige to traditional leadership.

“A happy 76th birthday to our beloved King, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,” she said.

“Your reign has brought great honour to both Asanteman and Ghana, and you have elevated the institution of chieftaincy to one of dignity and admiration.”

Gratitude and Selfless Service
Oheneyere Akosua Serwaa Oheneafrewo II, Hiahene and head of the Asantehene’s traditional wives, expressed profound gratitude for His Majesty’s unwavering support.

“Today is a day of great joy, for God has graciously added another year to the life of our revered Lord,” she noted.

“His Majesty has shown unwavering selflessness in service to Asanteman, to Ghana, and to the wider world. He is truly a gift to us all. As his wives, we remain deeply grateful for his kindness and generosity.”

Born on May 6, 1950, the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool has reigned as the Asantehene since April 1999.

His Majesty’s leadership has been defined by efforts to preserve Asante heritage while promoting development in education, health, and peacebuilding both within Asanteman and Ghana.
