The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has assured the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, that the Sewua Hospital will be operationalised soon.

He gave the assurance during a courtesy call on His Majesty at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Briefing Otumfuo on developments in the health sector, Mr Akandoh said significant progress had been made on critical infrastructure around the facility, particularly the road network, energy, and water supply.

He indicated that the outstanding works were being fast-tracked to ensure the hospital is ready for use without further delays.

“When we come again with President Mahama, we will be commissioning it,” the Minister told the Asantehene.

The Sewua Hospital, located in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, is expected to expand access to quality healthcare for residents in Kumasi and surrounding districts.

The Health Minister was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Samuel Akoriyea Kaba, and other officials.
