Police Interdict Officer Over Alleged Demolition
The Ghana Police Service has interdicted an officer in connection with an alleged demolition exercise at the Accra Race Course at Borteyman.
The officer has been identified as DSP Mr Alhassan Malaika Jibril.
According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the Police Headquarters on August 25, 2026, DSP Jibril was involved in a demolition exercise at the site on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
The release, signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs, Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, stated that the interdiction is to facilitate investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D.) and the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) are investigating the matter, and anyone found culpable will be taken through the due process of the law,” the statement said.
