Opoku Ware Old Boys Association Congratulates Newly-Enstooled 15th Asantehemaa

The Board of Governors, School Management, student body, and the Akatakyie fraternity of Opoku Ware School have extended hearty congratulations to the 15th Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II.

In a congratulatory message shared on Thursday, the Opoku Ware Old Boys Association said the entire Akatakyie community joined the Asanteman in celebrating the historic enstoolment of the Queen Mother of the Asante Kingdom.

“May your reign bring goodwill and prosperity,” the association stated, praying that Nana Yaa Akyaa II’s tenure will usher in peace, unity and development for the people of Asanteman.

Nana Yaa Akyaa II was recently outdoored as the 15th occupant of the prestigious Asantehemaa stool, succeeding the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

Her enstoolment marks a new chapter for the Asante Kingdom, with expectations of strong leadership in cultural preservation, women’s empowerment, and social development.

The Opoku Ware Old Boys Association, known as Akatakyie, is one of the leading alumni groups in Ghana and has over the years maintained close ties with the Manhyia Palace and traditional authorities in the Ashanti Region.

The new Asantehemaa is expected to play a key role in supporting Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in matters relating to tradition, customs, and the welfare of women and children across the kingdom.
