No Fatalities Recorded in Brimso Bridge Accident – Ashanti Regional Minister Confirms
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has confirmed that no lives were lost in the road traffic accident that occurred at the Brimso Bridge on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
In a Facebook post, Dr Amoakohene said he had been in touch with his colleague, the Regional Minister for the Eastern Region, following the incident which left many people injured.
“Contrary to earlier assertions, thankfully no lives were lost,” he stated. “All the affected passengers have been treated and discharged, with one currently receiving treatment and being monitored. We wish all affected a speedy and full recovery.”
The Minister commended the security services, emergency responders, and all those involved in the rescue efforts for their swift response and dedication during the incident.
Dr Amoakohene also used the opportunity to urge road users to exercise greater caution on the highways.
He called on drivers to observe speed limits, avoid dangerous overtaking, and remain focused and responsible behind the wheel.
“This incident serves as a reminder to all road users to exercise greater caution,” he said. “Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.”
