GRA Strengthens Partnership with Diplomatic Missions Through Tax Education and Compliance Dialogue

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has held a stakeholder dialogue with diplomatic missions to strengthen collaboration, promote tax education, and encourage voluntary compliance.
The engagement on June 23, 2026, sought to foster a partnership-based relationship between GRA and diplomatic missions built on mutual understanding and transparency.
Welcoming participants, Mrs Kate Ntow, Head of the Public Sector Tax Office, emphasised the important role diplomatic missions play in Ghana’s development and reaffirmed GRA’s commitment to making taxation simple and accessible through continuous education.
Dr Martin Yamborigya, Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division, also highlighted the contribution of diplomatic missions to tax awareness and compliance efforts.
The Head of the International Tax Department, Mr Nana Mensah Otoo, provided an overview of the legal frameworks, tax exemptions, and international agreements governing diplomatic entities.
Mr Lawrence Hotsonyame, Assistant Commissioner, Training Department, further explained domestic tax obligations, particularly employment taxes, and outlined key compliance requirements and deadlines for employers and employees.
Mr Dominic Naab, Ag. DC-Strategy and Research/ Head of VAT Administration, presented ongoing reforms aimed at simplifying compliance, including improvements to the tax refund process and the introduction of E-Invoicing.
He also highlighted taxpayers’ rights and available tax reliefs. The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, reinforcing the shared commitment of GRA and diplomatic missions to effective tax administration and national development.
