GES Commences 2026 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Re-postings

The Ghana Education Service has announced the commencement of this year’s Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-posting exercise for staff.

In a letter dated June 3, 2026, and signed by the Director of HRMD, Ms. Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, for the Director-General, GES informed all Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education about the start of the exercise.

The letter noted that the process for staff seeking assurance remains unchanged and that the procedure and appropriate documents required have been attached.

According to the Service, issuance of assurances to eligible applicants began on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 and will end on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Processing of Inter-Regional re-posting applications from the regions will then run from Wednesday, June 17, 2026 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

The GES further stated that the deadline for processing all Inter-Regional, Inter and Intra District re-postings for the year 2026 is Monday, August 31, 2026, with approval of applications taking effect from the beginning of the next academic year in September, 2026.

Management urged Directors to submit processed Inter-regional documents to Headquarters as and when they are received in the regions in order to expedite the processing of applications.

They were also asked to compile and forward to the HRMD Secretariat at GES Headquarters in Accra, a list of all staff who have been given assurance in their respective regions.

The Service also emphasized that a staff seeking re-posting can only be released after the Director-General has approved and issued a re-posting letter to the applicant.
