Gov’t Signs MoUs to Boost Youth Skills and Employment
The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has signed two landmark Memoranda of Understanding with the Design and Technology Institute (DTI) and the Christian Council of Ghana to advance youth skills development, employment, entrepreneurship and values-based leadership nationwide.
The agreements were signed on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, and are expected to expand access to high-quality, market-responsive training for young Ghanaians while strengthening pathways to both local and international jobs.
Under the MoU with DTI, the partnership will focus on delivering industry-led skills training designed to align directly with labour market needs. The goal is to strengthen employability and support young entrepreneurs with practical, technical skills.
The agreement with the Christian Council of Ghana will leverage the Council’s extensive nationwide network.
It will promote volunteerism, national values, responsible digital citizenship, substance abuse prevention, and psychosocial support for youth across the country.
The Ministry said the collaborations will also create targeted opportunities for women, persons with disabilities, vulnerable youth, and underserved communities.
“Through these collaborations, more young Ghanaians will gain access to skills training that enhances employability and supports entrepreneurship,” the Ministry stated. “The partnerships will also expand opportunities… creating pathways to both local and international employment.”
The Ministry will provide policy leadership, while DTI and the Christian Council will drive technical implementation, workforce development, and values-centred youth engagement.
