GES to Issue Teacher Promotion Letters From August 15; Salaries to Be Adjusted by August 31

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that promotion letters for teachers who passed the 2026 promotion examination will be dispatched from August 15, 2026, with successful teachers placed on their new salary scales by August 31.

In a statement dated July 28, 2026, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, GES said management is “currently working assiduously on the promotion letters” for all qualified teachers.

According to the Service, the letters will be sent to the Regional Educational Directorates from August 15, 2026, for onward distribution to the affected teachers.

“The qualified teachers will then be put on the appropriate scales by August 31, 2026,” the statement added.

GES also expressed appreciation to all staff for their cooperation during the process.

Thousands of teachers across the country sat for the GES promotion examination earlier this year, with many awaiting confirmation of their new ranks and salary adjustments.
