Asantehene’s Arrival From UK: Routes From The Airport to the Manhyia Palace

Nine ceremonial roads have been earmarked for the procession of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, from the Kumasi Airport to the Manhyia Palace on his return from the United Kingdom (UK) this Saturday.

The King is set to be escorted through these principal roads to receive homage from residents.

This was relayed by Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene and interim President of the Kumasi Traditional Council on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Manhyia Palace.

He further revealed that the plane carrying the King is expected to arrive at 3 pm on May 13 at the Kumasi Airport.

Bantamahene mentioned that the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC), headed by the Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah, has assured the Traditional Council of necessary security arrangements.

The King will be welcomed at the airport by some chiefs and the Regional Minister before he begins his procession from the airport to Dichemso, passing through Suame roundabout, Abrepo Junction, Bantama, Komfo Anokye,  Kejetia, Dr Mensah, Apagyafie, and finally to the Manhyia Palace.

“The welcoming event by the Kumasi Traditional Council, is aimed at honouring the King, who raised the flags of both the Asante Kingdom and Ghana high during the coronation of King Charles III,” said Bantamahene

The Council has urged the media to broadcast the event and its preparations to make the public aware.
