Asantehene To Settle Victims of Kwaprahene’s Multiple Land Sale

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will address the grievances of the various victims of destooled Kwaprahene, Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin, in relation to the multiple sale of lands at Kwapra.

The victims have been directed to present their documents proving purchase to his Lands Secretariat at the Manhyia Palace.

They are to present their documents to Apagyahene Oheneba Owusu Afriyie who heads the secretariat for authentication and verification.

The subsequent decision of the King after this process is inferred to be settlement of the victims as he said he would sit on that aspect of the case on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

“I will sit on those cases on Thursday. All documents relating to the lands they have bought must be submitted and their {the victims} names and contacts must taken,” Otumfuo stated.

This was after the destoolment of Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin on Monday, December 11, 2023, during the sitting of the Kumasi Traditional Council.

The Council had heard the issue of multiple sale of lands as well as other charges including illegal sale of land, embezzlement of stool lands and contempt by Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin when the ruling was given.

The case of multiple land sales was officially brought before Otumfuo and the traditional council after one of his victims opted for the traditional channel and petitioned the Council, paving the way for all other victims to use the same means and make their cases against the chief.
