The Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, has observed her maiden Akwasidae festival at her court inside the Manhyia Palace today, July 19, 2026.

It was Her Majesty’s first appearance at an Akwasidae since her enstoolment on July 6, 2026, and the occasion drew significant attention from chiefs, queens, and hundreds of residents who thronged the palace grounds.

With a separate durbar from that of the King, Her Majesty hosted dignitaries from across the country and beyond.

The Asantehemaa, in the company of relevant traditional leaders and members of her court, sat in state to receive homage.

This was a significant occasion during which Nananom, royals, government officials and subjects were present.
