Asafohene Fined 6 Rams for Illegally Enstooling Tabere Dikro

The Chief of Asafo, Akyamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang-Bonsu, found himself on the wrong side of tradition when he was fined six rams during a Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on Monday.
The fine relates to his decision to enstool a Dikrohene for Tabere, which remains under injunction due to a pending Great Oath case.
At the Council meeting on August 3, 2026, Otumfuo was informed by a committee probing the multifaceted issue about the action of the Akyamfuo, which was deemed an act of defiance.
Before the Council, he confirmed the claims and admitted he had not cancelled the enstoolment.
“You should have cancelled the enstoolment after the committee drew your attention to it,” Otumfuo fumed.
This was deemed disrespectful and warranted disciplinary action.
The head of the Akwamu Division of the KTC was initially slapped with a 12-ram fine. However, upon a plea, it was reduced to six.
