Tender Process Ongoing for Kumasi Inner Ring Road- JICA Assures

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has assured the government of Ghana that it has already begun the tender process for the Inner Ring Road in Kumasi.
During a meeting with the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, on the sidelines of the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C, the Senior Vice President of JICA, Mr. Ando Naoki, said the process was steadily ongoing.
The project is aimed at widening 3.2 km of road between Santasi and Ahodwo Roundabouts and upgrading intersections with modern traffic signals.
It is also expected to improve pedestrian facilities and drainage systems, as well as enhance connectivity between Santasi Roundabout and the N8.
The assurance from the Agency comes after Cassiel reaffirmed that Ghana has moved beyond the economic crisis of 2022.
Besides the ring road project, Mr Naoki expressed confidence in securing additional funding for the Volivo Bridge.
He is hopeful that the contractor will mobilise by the end of the year to commence construction of this very important bridge.
