Mahama to Grace Investiture of Denis Sassou Nguesso in Congo

President John Dramani Mahama has travelled to Congo for the investiture of Denis Sassou Nguesso.

He departed Accra after launching his flagship Free Primary Health Care Programme in Dodowa on April 15, 2026.

A statement by the Jubilee House reported that President Mahama had already arrived in Brazzaville.

He is expected to return after the ceremony on Thursday.

Denis Sassou Nguesso won his fifth consecutive term as President following the country’s presidential election in March 2026.

The 82-year-old’s election extends his reign to nearly 42 years in power.
